Founded in 2014 by the former scholarship holders of the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt am Main Carolin Ralser and Philipp Lamprecht, as well as the composer Hannes Kerschbaumer, the ensemble debuted at the Transart Festival Bolzano. Performances followed in Hong Kong, Vienna, Zadar, Salzburg, Leipzig and South Tyrol.
The ensemble was able to demonstrate its high quality and sensitivity for contemporary music interpretation at the following festivals and concert series with interdisciplinary performances and projects such as CHEMIN, RESPIRO, RAYON UV-A, AERIA, ABYSS, HOT and MUNDLICHT: Free Space Festival Hong Kong, Novalis Festival for Contemporary Music and Art (Croatia), Distat Terra Festival (Argentina), Transart Festival, Alpenclassica Festival, Festival of Contemporary Music Bolzano, WGT Festival Leipzig, Concert Series of Int. Paul Hofhaymer Society Salzburg, Mozarteum Salzburg, Gustav Mahler Music Weeks (2018, 2019) and others.
The ensemble chromoson was also ensemble in residence at "„hörbar! tag der neuen musik“ (INAUDITO / UNERHÖRT) in Bolzano, as well as the Austrian Hong Kong Composers Connection.
Lively collaboration with young international composers. Lectures and workshops, etc. at the Hong Kong University of Education emphasize the ensemble's desire to make new music accessible to a wider audience.
